Push notifications

SiteCargo sends push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). A campaign recipient is an app installation with an active push token. One person with several devices may receive several notifications.

Required setup

Before your first campaign, check that:

  • push is enabled for the app and active FCM credentials are configured;
  • the mobile app requests notification permission and registers its token;
  • the app registers again after reinstallation or a token change;
  • the app handles deep_link and sends push_open events for CTR calculation.

Users can disable notifications in their device settings. SiteCargo cannot change this permission.

How sending works

  1. You create a campaign and select a segment.
  2. SiteCargo queues the job and selects matching active tokens.
  3. FCM accepts the messages and forwards them to Android or APNs.
  4. When tapped, the app opens the deep link and records the open event.

A successful FCM response does not guarantee that the notification appears: permissions, network connectivity, device state, and OS restrictions can affect it.
