Links and the active item

In the URL field, enter a path from the root of the connected website. The page must exist on your website — the builder does not create a page from the item name.

ExampleDestination
/Home
/catalogCatalog
/cartShopping cart
/account/ordersUser's orders
/catalog?category=saleCatalog with a filter parameter
/help#deliveryDelivery section, if the website supports this anchor

For pages that require authentication, the website must display a sign-in screen and return the user to the requested page. Check the link in a browser and in the preview, including while signed out.

How the active item is determined

Highlighting depends on the current page URL:

  • / is active only on the home page;
  • an exact path match takes priority;
  • on a child page, the closest parent path is selected: for /catalog/sale/item, /catalog/sale takes priority over /catalog;
  • parameters after ? and anchors after # are ignored.

Do not give multiple items the same path with different filters or anchors: highlighting cannot distinguish them. A JavaScript action without navigation does not make an item active by itself.

You can use the same internal path, such as /account/orders, in a push notification's Deep link field. Test notification navigation on a device: clicking a menu item in the preview does not test it. See Creating a push campaign.
