Frequently asked questions

Do I need the website's source code?

Usually not: a public HTTPS URL for a working website is enough. A developer's help is needed if the mobile layout, authentication, payments, bot protection, or external services do not work correctly through the app. SiteCargo does not automatically gain access to your repository.

Which websites work with SiteCargo?

The website must:

  • use HTTPS without warnings;
  • have a usable mobile version;
  • be accessible over a regular mobile network;
  • work correctly in Safari and Chrome;
  • have a stable domain, privacy policy, and support channel.

Complex authentication, CAPTCHA, popups, iframes, strict CSP, payments on another domain, and camera, microphone, or location features are checked separately.

Can I use my own Apple and Google accounts?

Yes. Choose publication using your company's accounts and grant SiteCargo separate, limited access. Do not share your Apple ID password, two-factor authentication codes, or private keys. After the first publication, you cannot change the hosting option for this app yourself. See Publication options.

Can I get an APK without Google Play?

Yes, for Android testing. An APK is installed directly on a device, while an AAB is used for Google Play publication. iOS testing uses TestFlight. See Testing a build.

How long does the first release take?

There is no fixed timeline. It depends on website and material readiness, payment, Apple and Google access, building, testing, and store review. The current stage appears in the dashboard and release history. See Release statuses.

When do changes take effect?

Website content, menu links, many colors, CSS, and JavaScript usually apply after saving and restarting the app. The main icon, permissions, system permission prompts, and native features require a new build and publication of an update. See Releasing updates.

Can I have several apps?

Yes. Each app has its own settings, materials, audience, analytics, releases, and subscription. One-time setup is paid separately, while monthly charges for apps in the same account are combined into one invoice.

What happens when I freeze an app?

Freezing ends the current billable interval. Charges resume after unfreezing. Existing invoices are not cancelled, the free month is not extended, and the app is not automatically removed from stores. See How charges are calculated.

Can I transfer an app to another account?

There is no self-service transfer between SiteCargo accounts. Contact support: ownership, invoices, releases, the subscription, and access need to be checked. Transferring the store listing between Apple or Google accounts is handled separately under each store's rules.

Who owns the app and data?

The website, content, users, orders, and business data remain under the website owner's control. The app listing is hosted in your company's accounts or SiteCargo's, depending on the selected option. Source code transfer and rights are governed by the contract and are not granted automatically when an app is created.
